Explosive Fox News Segment as Hannity Grills Bill de Blasio

By Molly T | August 8, 2019

New York City Mayor and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Bill de Blasio appeared on Fox News’ Hannity yesterday evening–and it ended in a major clash.

De Blasio began by attacking Fox News; the same network that was currently hosting him. The presidential candidate also ripped Sean Hannity right to his face during a heated debate centered around immigration reform. De Blasio accused both Fox and Hannity of using immigration to distract from inequality.

He said, “Sean, this is why it’s such a charade! What you are doing, and what your network does too often, is tries to distract people —”

“What charade?!” Hannity responded.

De Blasio shot back, “It is a charade! What you are doing, and what your network does too often, is tries to distract people…”

Hannity said, “Oh, my network! By the way, there are people on my network who don’t like a single thing I say! What are you talking about!?”

“I agree you’re not a monolith,” de Blasio said. “But too much of the time what Fox and NewsCorp do is try and take people’s minds off the fact they are being screwed economically by the one percent.”

Hannity then pointed out that he spends a lot of time discussing taxation.

During the past few months, Fox News has hosted several heated exchanges between critics and allies of the president. As we reported last week, a segment on The Five got particularly touchy when Juan Williams tried calling the president a racist.

Williams said, “Let me tell you, it’s a fact [that Trump is racist]. It’s a fact. It is a fact.”

Brian Kilmeade shot back, “But he’s not!”

Co-panelist Greg Gutfeld then attempted to defend Trump while Williams continued stating the president is a racist.

As Williams carried on about how it’s a “fact” that Trump is a racist, Gutfeld shouted, “It’s an opinion! That’s an opinion! That’s an opinion, Juan!” Gutfeld then turned to the camera and said, “I can keep saying it, he won’t listen.”
