How to Find Rock-Solid Confidence in Our Lives (Hint: God Is Involved)

Do you know your own value? It is not connected to social media 'likes,' popularity ratings, online infatuations or other such fleeting 'measures'

So many people base their sense of value upon human opinion.

But — if social media “likes,” popularity ratings, online infatuations and much more disappear — so does our sense of value.

What a tumultuous way to exist!

What if there were someone who always loved us and thus gave us an unwavering sense of value?

I never believed I would find this kind of love in my own life until I fell in love with God.

I cannot express the sense of being completely valued better than the Psalmist did: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them” (Psalms‬ ‭139:13-16‬).

When we know deep in our soul that we are valuable to God, we possess rock-solid confidence that we know is directly attributable to Him.

Our life becomes an adoration of God as naturally as one marvels at the artist who creates a masterpiece.

Just as it is the artist who gives the art value, it is God who gives us our greatest value.

This profound knowledge inspires praise because we realize that everything we enjoy relates back to Him.

C.S. Lewis said, “One’s mind runs back up the sunbeam, to the sun” (“Letters to Malcolm”).

If we derive our worth from anything or anyone less than God — we will always be undervalued.

To know God is to know your value.
