A socialist from Minnesota backs a socialist from Vermont.
Voters tell NBC’s “Meet the Press” something the show likely didn’t expect to hear (or want to hear) this past Sunday morning — at which point those voters’ opinions were immediately challenged.
And a Republican governor stands up to a county executive on respect for the police.

These are just a few of the stories LifeZette is bringing you today as we cover the important stories you need to know about across the nation — and much more.

Check out these stories to start:
1.) Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for the 2020 Democratic nomination for the presidency on Sunday night in front of a raucous crowd at the Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Employing long-time themes of the hard Left, Omar called for an end to “Western imperialism” (which seems rather strange, coming from a member of Congress of the country that leads the Western world).
She also called for “a mass movement of the working class” — the same class that is enjoying record-low unemployment under this administration, by the way.
And she made the usual denunciations against President Donald Trump. Stay tuned for more details.
2.) Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican, strongly took issue on Sunday with the actions of Montgomery County Executive Mark Elrich, who refuses to post a wooden “thin blue line” national police flag at a county police station.
The governor said he was personally “offended and disgusted” by the edict.
Elrich, who is an elected official in perhaps the most leftist county in Maryland, called the banner that honors police officers and first responders “divisive” and a “symbol of dismissiveness.”
The flag is a gift from county resident James Shelton and his young son.
It was given to the Fifth District police station this past Wednesday.
3.) In a startling rebuke to national the Democratic Party message, reliably Dem-friendly “Meet the Press” on NBC yesterday asked voters in early primary states what they thought of the push for the impeachment of President Trump.
“Meet the Press” found mostly apathy.
A Minnesota voter said the whole effort was “a waste of time.”
A New Hampshire voter called on the Democrats to “rely on the country’s system of checks and balances to resolve the issue fairly.”
A South Carolina voter read the transcript of the July 25 phone call between President Trump and President Zelensky of Ukraine — the basis for the major charge against the president — and commented, “There was absolutely nothing concerning to me.”
Media panelists immediately challenged the legitimacy of the NBC report.
Hang onto your hats.
Much more about these stories is coming along.
Oh, and President Trump holds another major 2020 re-election campaign rally tonight — this time in Lexington, Kentucky. The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EST.
And share your thoughts.
