Rand Paul Wows Trump Crowd in Lexington as Michael Flynn’s Lawyer Demands FBI Paperwork

In this Tuesday morning update, check out some of the top stories of the day so far

By David Kamioner | November 5, 2019

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) aggressively defended the president at a major Keep America Great rally in Lexington, Kentucky, on Monday night.

General Michael Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell, charged that the FBI doctored records to incriminate her client — and she wants to see the initial report.

And Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) rejected the offer to have the so-called whistleblower answer written questions by members of the GOP.

Instead, the conservative lawmaker wants the man in front of the House Oversight Committee for proper cross-examination.

These are among the top stories LifeZette is covering for readers today — these and much more.

To start, take a look at these current developments:

1.) Rep. Rand Paul took to the podium at a raucous Trump rally in Lexington last night after President Donald Trump called him to the stage. Paul delivered a blistering attack on Democrats in Congress for their impeachment push against the president. “President Trump has great courage. He faces down the fake media every day. But Congress needs to step up and have equal courage to defend the president.”

2.) Sidney Powell, attorney for ex-Trump adviser Mike Flynn, thinks the FBI has been withholding information that would go a long way toward exonerating her client.

The bureau supposedly manipulated and changed witness reports to make it seem that Flynn denied allegations he did not address at all, she has charged.

The FBI calls the changes to the report “grammatical and stylistic.”

But given FBI chicanery under disgraced former Director James Comey — many aren’t buying the agency’s convenient excuses.

3.) Rep. Jim Jordan, currently the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee and a founder of the House Freedom Caucus, believes in due process and the right to confront an accuser.

That’s why he’s rejecting an offer from Mark Zaid, the attorney for the leaker, to have the informer answer written questions submitted by the House Oversight Committee.

Jordan knows full well that without a rigorous (and live) question-and-answer session, Zaid could take his time and spin questions to his own advantage.

So stay tuned.

This promises to be an interesting day.
