Trump at Rally About Democrats: ‘We Did Nothing Wrong — and They’re Doing Nothing’

President introduced a new attack line on Thursday night

President Donald Trump held a campaign rally at a packed venue in Louisiana on Thursday night — and shared a new political attack line against Democrats in the House who are pushing an impeachment inquiry against him.

He said during the rally to supporters, “We did nothing wrong — and they’re doing nothing.”

This was mere hours after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday accused the president of “bribery” during a press conference.

When a reporter asked her what she meant by that, she declared that Trump allegedly was “threatening to withhold military aid” during the July 25 phone call with the president of Ukraine — in exchange for an “investigation into his political rival.”

This completely flies in the face of the facts of the phone call — a transcript of which the president released some time ago now.

Pelosi’s statement on Thursday appeared to indicate Democrats in the House are preparing now to go full-throttle on their impeachment efforts against the president.

Public hearings will again occur on Friday, as held by the House Intelligence Committee and run by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

The Washington Post had reported that Democrats were retiring the “quid pro quo” language in exchange for “bribery” following an internal study showing the word “bribery” resonated more in battleground states — as Fox News reported on Thursday night.

“Although the Louisiana rally ostensibly was an effort to oust the state’s governor, a Democrat, in this weekend’s election, Trump almost immediately turned his attention to the first public hearings in the impeachment inquiry earlier in the week, reading from an article from The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra,” as Fox News reported.

The state election cycle for this year will close out on November 16.

That’s when Louisiana conservative Democrat incumbent John Bel Edwards faces a gubernatorial runoff against GOP businessman and gubernatorial nominee Eddie Rispone, whom Trump has rallied for now more than once.
