The sorority that Amy Coney Barrett belonged to when she was in college has deleted and apologized for a tweet that recognized her nomination to the Supreme Court.
After President Donald Trump nominated Barrett to the highest court in the land last month, the Kappa Delta sorority posted a simple tweet recognizing the fact that one of their sisters was on her way to being appointed to the Supreme Court.
“KD alumna Amy Coney Barrett was nominated to serve on the Supreme Court,” stated the September 28 tweet, according to the College Fix. “While we do not take a stand on political appointments, we recognize Judge Coney Barrett’s significant accomplishment. We acknowledge our members have a variety of views and a right to their own beliefs.”
The tweet sounds simple enough, and one would think that it wouldn’t be offensive to anyone. Unfortunately, liberal snowflakes were “triggered” by the fact that Kappa delta was recognizing “Barrett’s significant accomplishment,” given the fact that she is a conservative. In the face of this backlash, Kappa Delta has backed down by deleting the tweet that recognized Barrett’s achievement and issuing a lengthy apology for it.

“Our approach was disappointing and hurtful to many,” the sorority wrote in the apology graphic. “We did not intend to enter a political debate, take a stand on the Supreme Court nomination, cause division among our sisters, or alienate any of our members.”
The sorority went on to pat itself on the back for launching earlier this year “an intentional journey for the betterment of our organization.”
“Thank you for holding us accountable,” the message concluded.

Feminist author Amy Siskind responded to the apology by blasting Barrett.
“I am embarrassed she is in any way associated with our sisterhood,” Siskind wrote. “She does not stand for our values, and that goes well beyond a half century old decision. but I appreciate national addressing the hurt this has caused.”
Others, however, blasted Siskind for this response.
“Crybaby radical Leftist whines about the ascent of a truly extraordinary woman,” one commenter fired back at her. “Pathetic, and nasty, too. A semi-normal person apart from politics would congratulate ACB and be honored a sorority sister had attained such success.”
Many more commenters went after Kappa Delta, ripping the sorority for caving to backlash from liberals.
“Shame on you,” one social media user wrote. “One of your sisters has been nominated to the highest court in the land; that accomplishment is worthy of celebration. Instead, you have by default declared that KD celebrates only leftists. Perhaps you need to make that official and expel right-leaning members?”
