Director Tyler Perry Bravely Stands Up For America At Oscars

African American director Tyler Perry courageously told a crowd of leftist showbiz robots to take a hike, as he slammed hate directed against police officers, white people, and all others in an Oscar speech on Sunday night.

Perry was receiving the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the event. Radical Hollywood race hustlers and Bolsheviks had previously spent time denigrating police officers and others to the delight of the California audience. Perry hit them back hard and with grace. Read the tweet.

FNC: “Tyler Perry, the director who won the humanitarian honor at the Academy Awards, spoke of unity during his acceptance speech Sunday and said his mother taught him as a boy to refuse hate and refuse to succumb to ‘blanket judgments’…’And in this time, with all of the internet and social media and algorithms and everything that wants us to think a certain way, the 24-hour new cycle…it is my hope that all of us would teach our kids, and I want to remember: just refuse hate. Don’t hate anybody.’ Perry said he refuses to hate someone ‘because they are Mexican or because they are Black or White, or LBGTQ. I refuse to hate someone because they are a police officer. I refuse to hate someone because they are Asian. I would hope we would refuse hate.’ He said it is his hope that parents teach their children what he learned as a boy and just refuse hate.”

Wow. That took guts and I bet the in house audience squirmed in their seats as he spoke. For what he said about blanket judgments and hate flies in the face of the majority of messages from Hollywood and the left. We are programmed from them to see police officers as racist thugs, men as toxic numbskulls, blacks as perpetual victims, and conservatives as heartless fascists.

We are told by the pop culture that people should be judged on race and gender. That America is a criminal enterprise not worth of loyalty or favor. That certain people are excused from any personal responsibility because of the color of their skin. Perry seemingly rejected all that. Like Dr. King before him, he fought ignorance with grace and bigotry with intelligence and kindness. He is a reasonable man who wants to meet fellow Americans in the middle. Kudos to him and all others who strive for reasonable outcomes.

It would be a miracle and a boon to this country if his speech marked a watershed in the pop culture, if his words began a movement towards adult reasoning and traditional civility. But it won’t. His message fell on mostly deaf ears. Those in attendance have far too much invested in hate and vitriol to ever back down. Hollywood represents the lowest form of knuckle-dragging racism and sexism alive in America. Tyler Perry’s speech was thus just a flickering flame in the darkness. However, it was still remarkable to hear.
